-Type of raw materials used, like HDPE that is a highly durable plastic
-Recycling techniques ensure the perfect blend for maximum strength and durability
Tools you would usually use on wood. Ensure cutting blades and drills are sharp.
DRILLING
All fixing holes should be pre-drilled with an HSS drill bit prior to screwing.
SAWING
Recycled plastic materials can be sawn using a handsaw, circular saw or chop saw.
A slow cutting speed with a medium tooth blade is best, for example a 305mm 60 tooth TCT blade.
In all cases when working with eco plastic, it is recommended to keep operating speeds lower in order to prevent material from melting on the surface of your implement. Working in hot sun, some WD40 on the blade can help.
UV light typically penetrates plastic only to a very shallow depth, usually within the first 0.01 to 0.1 millimetres (0.0004 to 0.004 inches) on the surface.
It means that our solid plastic fence products and furniture cannot be weakened by UV radiation.
Solid mixed recycled plastic fence posts will last well over 50 years.
Examples for a thicker piece of:
HDPE 250-1000 years
LDPE 1000 years
PP 450 years
PET 450 years
